Blur what you don’t mean to share.

Before you share your screen, click the Slack DM, the salary column, the customer’s card number. Mistpane keeps them blurred until you say otherwise, even after a reload.

No account needed. Nothing leaves your browser.

One wrong tab, and everyone saw it.

Screen sharing shows everything that happens to be open. Most leaks aren’t a decision; they’re a notification.

  1. A DM lands mid-demo

Your manager’s message about someone’s review pops up in the sidebar while forty people watch.

  2. The salary column was open

You meant to show the hiring pipeline. The comp sheet was one tab over, and now it’s in the recording.

  3. A customer’s card number, on screen

Real names, emails and account numbers in a sales demo can turn a good call into a compliance problem.

Ten seconds before you hit Share.

  1. 1

    Start blurring

Press Alt ⇧ B, or click the Mistpane icon.

  2. 2

    Click what to hide

Hover to see exactly what you’ll cover. ↑ grabs the bigger container; click again to un-blur.

  3. 3

    Share as usual

Press Esc. The blurs stay put, on this page and the next time you open it.

What it does

Click anything. It’s gone.

Text, images, form fields, whole sidebars. A toolbar docks to the page while you work, with undo, styles and a button that hides everything at once.

  • Drag over anything Pro

Charts, video, canvas, embedded frames: draw a box and it’s covered.

  • Find it for me Pro

One scan blurs emails, phone numbers, card numbers, API keys and database URLs. Card numbers are checksum-verified, so order ids are left alone.

  • Still hidden after a reload

Blurs follow the element through refreshes and app re-renders, not just a position on screen.

  • Panic button

Alt+Shift+H covers the whole page instantly. Press it again to bring it back.

  • Blur, pixelate, black out, frost Pro

Pick the look, and how strong.

  • Whole-site rules Pro

Keep the sidebar of your CRM blurred on every page, not only this one.

Questions

Anything else is in the privacy policy.

Does Mistpane send anything off my computer?

No. Blurs, settings and detection all run inside your browser. If you start a Pro trial or subscribe, Mistpane checks your license with its billing server now and then, sending only the license key. It never sends page content.

Does it work with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams and Loom?

Yes. Mistpane changes the page itself, so whatever you share (a tab, a window or the whole screen) shows the blurred version. It works on any website you open in Chrome.

Will the blur still be there after I refresh?

Yes. Mistpane remembers each blurred element by its id, attributes, position and text, so it can find it again after a reload or when a web app re-renders it.

Can people undo the blur from their end?

No. Viewers only receive pixels from your screen share, and the blurred pixels are all that’s drawn. On your own screen you can reveal a blur from the Mistpane popup at any time.

What does Pro add?

Region blur, auto-detect, pixelate, black out and frost styles, a strength slider, site-wide rules, and sites that always start hidden. Clicking to blur, saved blurs, undo and the panic button are free.

How does paying for Pro work?

Checkout is hosted by Stripe; card details go to Stripe and never touch Mistpane. Pro starts with a 7-day free trial. Stripe asks for a card up front but charges nothing until the trial ends, then $3.99 / month or $29 / year. Cancel or change your card any time from Manage subscription in Mistpane’s settings. On a new computer, use Restore purchase and we’ll email you a link.

Is Mistpane a substitute for HIPAA or PCI compliance?

No. It reduces what appears on screen, but it’s a tool, not a compliance program. Follow your organisation’s policies for sharing regulated data.

Set it up before your next call.

Free forever for click-to-blur. Pro features come with a 7-day free trial; cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.
